FOTON HITS THE SWEET SPOT

WITH THE ALL-NEW TUNLAND UTE

Tuesday, 28 October 2025

FOTON marks its return to the Australian passenger vehicle market with the arrival of the all-new TUNLAND utes. Sitting between traditional dual-cab utes and larger full-sized pickups, the TUNLAND occupies the “Goldilocks zone” – not too small, not too big, but just right for Australian drivers seeking capability, comfort, and value.

The line-up consists of two models, the V7 and V9, both powered by a 2.0 Aucan turbo-diesel engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system and ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. This combination produces up to 120kW of power* and 450Nm of torque*, delivering smooth, responsive performance with the strength to tow up to 3,500kg** and carry payloads of up to 1,115kg (depending on variant).

The V7-C 4x2, the TUNLAND offers a compelling alternative in the highly competitive Australian ute market, bringing commercial-grade durability, real-world capability, and comfort in a value-packed offering tailored for local drivers.

The range includes two types, each with two grades:
•    V7-C (4x2) and V7-C (4x4): Focused on work-ready durability, this model is ideal for fleets and trades, offering over 1,000kg payload and all the features needed for everyday commercial use.
•    V9-L and V9-S (both 4x4): Designed for lifestyle versatility, the V9 delivers refined multi-link rear suspension, enhanced comfort, and additional technology features, appealing to drivers who want a ute that can handle both work and weekend pursuits.

The TUNLAND range shares a bold, muscular stance and commanding road presence, but each model is distinguished by front-end styling differences. The V7 features a more upright, squared-off grille with horizontal bars and a tough, utility-focused look that underlines its workhorse credentials. In contrast, the V9 adopts a broader, more sculpted hexagonal grille with refined detailing, emphasising its lifestyle and more premium positioning.

Inside, all models feature a contemporary and spacious cabin anchored by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.6-inch infotainment screen, blending practicality with technology for daily demands or longer journeys. Key physical buttons and dials are retained for essential functions, helping ensure easy access and intuitive operation. Generous interior dimensions and a wide-body design provide excellent leg and shoulder room for all occupants, while thoughtful cabin insulation contribute to a calm, quiet environment while on the move.

All models also come equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including but not limited to, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), providing added confidence behind the wheel.

Glen Cooper, FOTON Australia General Manager, said: “The all-new TUNLAND is the goldilocks of utes – not too big, not too small, but just right for Australian drivers. It blends the durability of FOTON’s global truck-building heritage with the refinement, space, and technology today’s customers expect. We’re excited to introduce a new generation of FOTON utes to Australia and establish a strong foundation for the brand’s future here.”

All TUNLAND variants are backed by a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty*** and seven years of service activated roadside assistance, with servicing intervals set at 15,000 kilometres or 12 months, whichever occurs first. A growing national dealer network across major centres helps ensure localised support for customers from purchase through to ownership.

The all-new FOTON TUNLAND is available to test drive and purchase at FOTON LCV Retailers now. Customers are invited to visit https://www.fotonaustralia.com.au/find-a-dealer to find their local Retailer.
