FOTON NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY

 

At FOTON, we provide a 7-year unlimited kilometre new car warranty* when you purchase a FOTON ute.

 

All authorised FOTON dealerships honour this New Vehicle Warranty, ensuring that any part of the vehicle that is found to be defective in factory materials or workmanship within the stated warranty period, will be repaired, replaced or adjusted by any authorised FOTON Retailer free of charge to you.

 

If you’ve misplaced or damaged your Warranty or Service Handbooks reach out to your local FOTON Service Centre to order a new one.

GENUINE PARTS WARRANTY**

FOTON Australia also offer a Manufacturer’s Warranty over genuine parts imported and distributed by it. The Genuine FOTON Parts & Accessories Warranty** period commences on the date of first supply and continues for the following term:

  • Replacement of standard Genuine FOTON Parts by an authorised FOTON Dealer are warranted for the remainder of the FOTON New Vehicle 7 Year Unlimited Kilometre Warranty.
  • Genuine parts purchased at and fitted by an authorised FOTON dealer are warranted for 24 months.
  • Genuine parts purchased at an authorised dealer and installed independently or by a third party are warranted for 12 months.
  • FOTON optional accessories purchased at the time of sale or up to the first scheduled maintenance (20,000km or 12 months, whichever comes first) and fitted by an authorised FOTON dealer are warranted for the remainder of the FOTON New Vehicle 7 Year Unlimited Kilometre Warranty.
  • FOTON optional accessories purchased outside of the above conditions are warranted for 24 months if fitted by and authorised FOTON dealer or 12 months if fitted independently or by a third party.

WARRANTY START DATE

For genuine FOTON parts installed by an authorised dealer the date of installation is the start of the warranty period. For genuine FOTON parts sold “over the counter” the date of the sale from the authorised FOTON Dealership will serve as the beginning of the warranty period.

The Genuine FOTON Parts and Accessories Warranty applies in addition to the guarantees, right and remedies conferred by the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable Commonwealth State and Territory Legislation. The Genuine FOTON Parts and Accessories Warranty does not exclude, affect or limit those guarantees, right or remedies, except to the extent that their application may lawfully be excluded or limited.

In particular, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonable foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

WHERE TO GET FOTON WARRANTY REPAIRS

All authorised FOTON Retailers will honour the FOTON New Vehicle Warranty, ensuring that any part of the vehicle that is found to be defective in factory materials or workmanship within the stated warranty period, will be repaired, replaced or adjusted free of charge to you.
Please note that FOTON Australia is unable to reimburse the cost of warranty repairs carried out during the warranty period by a repairer other than an authorised FOTON Retailer, except where express prior approval for those repairs has been obtained.

Transferring your FOTON warranty to a new owner

The New Vehicle Warranty runs with the vehicle and is transferable from owner to owner conditional upon the standard warranty terms as explained in the FOTON Warranty & Service Handbook. The New Vehicle Warranty is only available in Australia and is not transferable to other countries as no reciprocal world-wide warranty is provided.

** Standard parts and accessories refers to non-optional components that are standard to the specific model variant. Optional genuine parts and accessories refers to optional components that do not come standard with the specific model variant.
